Senior or Principal (Resource) Geologists

About the Role

Our client is seeking a permanent, full-time Senior or Principal Geologists (Resource Geologist) to join their growing Advisory division in Canada or South America.

This role is responsible for providing expert-level mineral resource estimation, geological modeling and exploration advice as well as resource auditing services to our global client base, which includes explorers, operators and financiers.

This role suits a highly experienced resource estimation specialist who wants to broaden their commodity and estimation skills and gain exposure to various styles of mineralisation around the world. You will work on projects as part of an integrated team providing you with the opportunity to broaden your understanding of the interaction of geology and resources into geometallurgy, engineering, project development and E&S.   

Some short (less than one week) duration domestic and international travel will be required in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage opportunities, studies & projects for NI 43-101 (or similar) compliant Mineral Resource statements.
  • Prepare geological models in accordance with project requirements.
  • Audit resource models used to underpin mining studies on the behalf of investors.
  • Develop client relationships to identify and maximize business opportunities for Company.
  • Act as a Project Manager where required;
  • Scope client requirements accurately and ensure work activities are carried out to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Work on projects as part of the Advisory global resource pool.

About You

  • Relevant Geology qualifications.
  • Existing client network in the mining and exploration space or willingness to develop your business development skills.
  • Strong communication skills including ability to express complex information to clients from a non-mining background.
  • Broad experience in metals and projects in varying maturity (exploration to resource development and grade control).
  • Operating mine geology experience is beneficial
  • Extensive experience with at least 10 years in mineral resource estimation using industry standard geostatistical methods 
  • Strong capability in resource estimation using software packages such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, Surpac, Micromine or Datamine
  • Ability to sign off as QP/CP
